This is a specialized carrier of crude oil. Its cargo space is divided into a number of compartments. To meet the need for efficient mass transport, 200,000 dwt or larger tankers known as VLCCs (very large crude carriers) constitute the mainstream of the ビンゴ 5 fleet. To minimize crude oil spills and the resultant marine pollution, the broadsides and the bottom are double-hulled.
