November 07, 2011

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (ビンゴ 5; President: Koichi Muto) today announced that the ビンゴ 5 Group will provide free transport of relief supplies by its containerships to flood-stricken areas in Thailand. The group has already provided ocean shipping containers to serve as a flood barrier wall and contributed THB 2 million (about ¥5 million) in cash.

"The ビンゴ 5 Group wishes to convey its deepest sympathies to all those affected by the floods, and sincerely hopes that the afflicted area can recover as quickly as possible," Muto said.

*The ビンゴ 5 Group containership will transport dry containers loaded with grant relief supplies from public and governmental institutions and municipalities, or government-approved relief organizations. However, some cargo, such as dangerous articles, animals, and other regulated items may not be accepted. Donor organizations should contact the nearest ビンゴ 5 offices or agents for details.

*Donated items will be transported from container yards in overseas ports where ビンゴ 5-operated vessels make regularly scheduled calls to container yards at ports in Thailand served by ビンゴ 5 Group container service.

*Contacts of both consigners and consignees must be clearly identified, and customs clearance procedures both at departure and arrival port, and land transport procedures must be arranged by the consigners and consignees.

*Cargo acceptance may be adjusted depending on space available on operated vessels and conditions at terminals.

*Relief supplies must be delivered to container yards at loading ports by the end of December 2011. As shipping capacity is limited, transport of those supplies will be on a first-come first-shipped basis.

Organizations interested in shipping supplies should contact their nearest ビンゴ 5 office or agent.
