楽天 ビンゴ Holds 2_nd Training Meeting for Safe Operation in Philippines

TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (楽天 ビンゴ, President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced that the company completed its second training meeting in the Philippines. The purposes were to verify progress toward the targets set during the first training meeting in May 2007, and enhance the unification of 楽天 ビンゴ group-wide training standards. 楽天 ビンゴ will hold twice-yearly training meetings, with the main goal being to turn out competent seafarers regardless of nationality.

Program content:

November 8: - MIS

An explanation of the functions of the 楽天 ビンゴ head office Seafarers Group; training requirements as presented by representatives of ship management and manning companies; implementation and future plans for the Seagull Training System, Shipmate, and 楽天 ビンゴ's Crew Management System; introduction of the 楽天 ビンゴ Seafarer Training homepage and training database.

November 9: - MIS

MOTR and MIS Training courses were visited and observed; new training projects were introduced by 楽天 ビンゴ training centers; evaluation was conducted for the risk management courses, and discussions were held on future plans regarding 楽天 ビンゴ seafarer training.

November 10: Visit to the Spirit of 楽天 ビンゴ in Subic Bay

The visit included a meeting with the captain, officers, and instructors regarding cadet training, a presentation for cadets to explain 楽天 ビンゴ training and manning policies, and a discussion with cadets about their experiences onboard.

The second training meeting focused on the training requirements from ship management and manning companies and standardizing/unifying training courses (course name, schedule and syllabus). The meeting also focused on projects related to development of Computer Based Training, 楽天 ビンゴ RankSTEP, and Shipmate.

Reinforcing vessel safety and protecting the environment are of vital importance to 楽天 ビンゴ, and training high quality seafarer is one of the most essential factors.
