宝くじ ビンゴ 5 Magsaysay Maritime Academy in the Philippines Holds 3^rd Commencement Exercises Ceremony

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (宝くじ ビンゴ 5; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that on February 3, 宝くじ ビンゴ 5 Magsaysay Maritime Academy Inc (MMMA ^{Note 1}), a merchant marine academy operated jointly by 宝くじ ビンゴ 5 and Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC ^{Note 2}) in the Philippines, held its 3rd commencement exercises at the school in Dasmariñas City, a suburb of Manila.

The ceremony welcomed many distinguished guests, including Bernard P. Olalia, Undersecretary of the Department of Migrant Workers, and Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuya Endo, as well as A. Magsaysay, Inc. CEO and President Doris Magsaysay Ho, 宝くじ ビンゴ 5 Chairman Junichiro Ikeda, and approximately 640 other attendees. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of MMMA's third class of graduates ^{(Note 3)}, who completed the entire curriculum, including shipboard training.

In his congratulatory address, 宝くじ ビンゴ 5 Chairman Ikeda delivered the following message to the graduates: "Fully utilize the knowledge, leadership, and drive for growth you cultivated during your studies to protect people's everyday life by ensuring across the blue ocean-our shared vision. Furthermore, strive to pursue the safe operations, safeguard the environment and the lives of people around the world, and experience firsthand how your efforts contribute to global development."

Going forward, approximately half of the graduates ^{(Note 4)} will work onboard 宝くじ ビンゴ 5 Group-operated vessels as Third Officers and Third Engineers after obtaining their maritime licenses. They will build their careers, aiming to become Captains and Chief Engineers while working on a global stage. As the importance of Filipino seafarers-who form the core of the 宝くじ ビンゴ 5 Group's seafaring workforce-continues to grow, the group will continue cultivating outstanding, immediately deployable seafarers through MMMA's rigorous four-year training and foundational education, thereby meeting the needs of the international community.

Additionally, 宝くじ ビンゴ 5 plans to relocate and rebuild its seafarer training facility, 宝くじ ビンゴ 5 Training Center (Phils.) Inc., within the MMMA campus by April 2027 ^{(Note 5)}. This relocation will give MMMA students easier access to state-of-the-art training equipment. Furthermore, increased interaction with active seafarers will enhance student engagement and deepen their understanding of seafaring careers.

This initiative reflects 宝くじ ビンゴ 5's commitment to developing seafarers and creating employment opportunities, addressing the sustainability challenge of "human development and community growth." As a responsible provider of social infrastructure services, the company will continue supporting people's everyday lives through safe maritime operations.

(Note 3) The third class and some of the inaugural and the second classes of students attended.
The enrollment of the third class was 101, of which 57 are deck cadets and 44 are engine cadets. Excluding those who were on board due to schedules, a total of 33 attended the ceremony.
In addition, the inaugural class of 110 students who were unable to attend last year's graduation ceremony for the same reason attended this ceremony.
